Out And About

I've been very busy this week after getting back from my Florida trip.  Had lunch Wednesday with the Redeemed, Miss Abbi, at the Trestle in downtown Conway, SC. Wow, it was scrumptious.  I had my usual, the fruited chicken salad plate. It hit the spot.  It's always enough for two meals for me.

Most of all I enjoyed the company of my friend, Miss Abbi.  She is so delightful and very sweet and smart. Though she's much younger than I, I know I can learn much from her.  Especially this tech stuff.  She's a whiz and I'm a fiz but I will learn in time.  I'm not THAT old and she is patient and very kind!

Wednesday night at church (Fountain of Life Ministries or FOLM), we had a good crowd, especially for mid-week bible study.  Our pastor, Dr. Jerry Howell, outdid himself.  He taught how to be a successful christian.  He gave us four steps for success in Christ and used the following scriptures:  1 Chron 28: 9,10 and 1 Kings 2:3

    The Four Steps:

     1.  Know the God of our fathers.

     2.  Know His Word.

     3  Know how to pray.

     4.  Know how to stand with integrity.

Cheers to our Pastor.  He's not perfect, but who is?  When it comes to teaching and preaching the truth of the Word of God, I don't know anyone that can beat him--including myself--and that's my story!  We also have wonderful teachers who teach classes and fill in for Pastor Howell when needed.

Thursday morning Mr. Roger and I were back at Conway Manor.  I was loafing the week before and he filled in for me.  That's not a problem for him because we always go there together unless something comes up such as sickness or we're both out of town.  That happens very rarely.  It was good to be back.  I really did miss my seniors there.  I have learned to love them SO much.  Roger and I are there every Thursday morning from 10:30 until 11:30 (usually a little longer).  This Oct. 17th, I'll be there for a special time to do a Fall Festival with my seniors - games, gifts, singing, fun and laughs, etc.  Please, if you have time, come join us there sometimes.  You will be encouraged by them.  They are wonderful children of God.  Now they can tell you something!

After that, Roger and I had lunch together.  We caught the 1:00 PM senior lunch special at Ryan's in Conway.  Of course there were several other seniors also waiting to get the special.  The cashier could not let any of us in until exactly 1:00 o'clock.  It's great to be a senior citizen.  It comes with special benefits and perks.  I've been waiting on this most of my life.  Life doesn't really begin until 55.  Wow!  So, see younger people, there is much for you to look forward to.  Just serve God and trust Him.  Do your part and He will carry you through it all.  He will make a way.  The dark times only last for awhile.  Joy comes in the morning.  Do not fear what tomorrow holds or do not borrow trouble from tomorrow.  God said His grace is sufficient.  That means we have His unmerited favor if we belong to Him whether we deserve it or not (and who does).  He freely grants it to His children.  That, Christians, is shouting grounds - Praise God!!!!!!.

Tonight, Mr. Roger and I plan to dine back at Coppers in downtown Conway right across from the Police Dept.  Charley will be our waiter.  Again, he is the owner's (Ms Susie) wonderful grandson.  Coppers also has a  buffet Mon-Fri and a particularly wonderful one on Sunday.  Charley does not work Sunday because he and his family go to church to learn about the Lord.  My My MY my kind of Momma.  God will honor her!!

Mr. Roger and I don't eat out on Sundays as often as we used to.  We'd love to see more of the eateries closed and more of the workers in church.  The Sabbath is a Holy day.  Some jobs are necessary on Sundays, ie, hospital, law enforcement, etc.  I'm not gonna hang on this subject any longer.  Just expressing my conviction.  Ya'll get the drift.

A couple of times a month, on Friday evenings at 7:00 PM, we have a special prayer group at FOLM.  The Lord put a need for this in Eddie Bryant's heart.  He is also our assistant Sunday School teacher as well as occasionally fills in for the Pastor.  A wonderful and, I believe, a very spiritual man of God.  The Friday night prayers are mainly for the city of Conway, it's churches, pastors, schools, daycare centers, etc.  There are some that walk specific areas in our city and pray over and about what goes on.  Please pray with us.

Mr. Roger and I are going into a new business venture.  Please keep us in your prayers that God will lead us in the right direction and that we stay in the center of His will.

Sat., Oct 6th, yard sale at FOLM parking lot.  Vendors will be family and friends.  In Jamestown area, 4th Ave/701S.

Sat. evening is the Fall Festival in downtown Conway.  Enjoy and be safe.

Don't take any wooden nickels and don't let the bed bugs bite.

Sunday - Go to church where the Word of God is preached.  The truth and nothing but the whole truth!  Remember a 1/2 truth is still a whole lie.

Nov. 6th vote - your vote and/or opinion DOES count!

Arise and go forth in the name of Jesus and remember "---------saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God."  (Romans 14:11)

                                                                                                                                Praise God,

                                                                                                                             Ms June & Mr Roger
