Devotion

Today is Thursday, June 14th.  It's a beautiful day in Abbyville, Al.  That's right near Eufaula, Al.  A large lake at Eufaula, call Lake Eufaula, is called "The Bass Fishing Capital".  People come from several states to vacation and fish there.  I believe there are rental cabins.  It is a very lovely historic town in the Deep South.  Mr. Roger's sister, Joyce lives near here (in Abbyville).  Her 3 children and there families live near her.  Ladies and gents, if you are big into fishing, you should consider this wonderful town, Eufaula, and its Lake.

Now for this week's devotion.  ARE YOU READY FOR A CHANGE?

Pres. Obama, during his previous presidential campaign, often spoke of change.  I'm asking you today-you who serve God-are you HAPPY with your walk with God?  He didn't save you for nothing or to do nothing!  There is a purpose in salvation (other than eternal security).  You were saved and purchased by Jesus's blood.  Jesus gave His life and His blood to set you free from being a slave to the sins of this world.  Any thing, any body, or any bad spirit that has control over you (mind, body and soul) is not of God Jehovah.  He is Holy and wants us to strive to be as He is!
Now back to change.  Are you ready to make the sacrifice of change to receive the tremendous benefits you will receive from God.  Some sacrificial actions you should take are:
    1.  You must take time alone with God.  You might need to get up earlier than usual.  I prefer early morning.
    2.  Pray Pray Pray.  Tell Him everything, including your faults.  Yes, He is aware of them but we should confess them to Him.  Believe it or not, you have some.  If you don't think so, ask others and somebody will be happy to point some out.  Be honest with yourself.  It's you and God-no one else hears.  The Truth and the Holy Spirit will guide you.
    3.  Speak positive things over yourself and your family.  Be truthful!!!  The truth will set you free!  (John 8:32)  (Gal. 5 NLT or NKJV)
    4.  Know who you are in Christ Jesus!  Have the attitude of Christ (Philippians 2:1-18 NLT).
    5.  Be FREE--you can have a new life in Christ!  Colossians 2:6-11.  Now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you MUST continue to follow Him.
    6.  Be thankful for ALL things large and small!  (Eph. 5:20)  Give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Psalms 34:1 NLT)
    7.  In Gal. 6, NLT, Paul's final advice to the church was true then and is true for us today.  I leave you with his words:  "--may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world's interest in me has also died.----What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.  May God's peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God."

In Paul's closing remarks he says "Dear brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.  Amen."

Remember the coming presidential election.  PRAY PRAY PRAY!!!  Seek God's will.  He is in control of everything and everybody.  Learn as much as you can about the two candidates.  Check out as much information as you can before voting.
