Out And About...

Guess what!  I found a couple of new spots (new to me) in Conway this past week.  They were both on 3rd Avenue near the Kingston Presb. Church.

One was a consignment shop called Ya Ya's Boutique.  The owner is Donna Carrillo and, bless her heart, she was out sick the day I was there.

They handle a higher end of clothes, shoes, hats, and handbags (Coach, etc.).  They have bargains on nice merchandise.  Go by and see her and tell her or her husband that Ms. June told you about their shop.

Another place new to me was Sweetgrass Baskets by Gertrude.  It is just down from Ya Ya's on 3rd Ave.  A very lovely young lady assisted me.  I bought a fan so I can fan myself wherever I am in this wonderful humid weather we have.

One of my favorite places

Meet Ms. June!

I am known by many as Ms. June.  I'm a native of Conway.  I was born here and have only been away for brief periods of time.  I like going barefooted in certain places.  I love my family.  I have 4 brothers and 3 sisters.  Our baby brother, Mike, went to be with the Lord at the age of 33.  Mama lived to be 92 and Daddy lived to be 94.  We were taught and told many wonderful stories by our Mother.  She could make us all laugh.  We really miss her as well as Daddy and Mike.  Life can be so short.

I am married to Mr. Roger and am very happy.  He is from Ala. and is truly a southern gentleman.  There's not another like him so I'm going to be good to him and keep him.  If he ever left me, I'd be like a dog after a bone.  I'd be at his heels, chasing him.

On a more serious side,

Worship and Praise Devotion

Today is Monday, June 4th, 2012.  Just finished my personal morning time with God.  During my daily devotion, I use a devotion book by Sarah Young, "Jesus Calling-Enjoying Peace in His Presence".  I highly recommend this book to everyone.  You can find it at the Lighthouse Christian Bookstore here in Conway.  She writes "time with God cannot be rushed".  I agree!  When we are in a hurry, our minds flitter back and forth between ourselves and things going on around us.  We need to make time each day just for our Lord.

When we focus our attention on God, that allows Him to use this time to bless us and prepare us for what lies ahead during our day.  Thus, spending time with God is a wise investment that always pays tremendous dividends!  Therefore, let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God; that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His Name.  (Heb. 13:15 NKJV).  Psalm 119:27 says  "let me understand the teaching of Your precepts; then I will meditate on Your wonders."  In 2 Chronicles Chap. 15, we are told that the Spirit of God cam upon Azariah.  Verse 2:  "And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; the Lord is with you, while ye be with Him; and if ye seek Him, He will be found of you; but if ye forsake Him, He will forsake you."

These words are still so true for today!  We must still seek the Lord.  Seeking the Lord faithfully

Devotion

Today is Tuesday, May 29th 2012.  My devotion for today:  Emmanuel which means "God is with us" (Matt 1:23.  So, just as you received Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, continue to live in him - rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness (Col. 2:6-7).

May we start each day with a meeting with our Lord, Jesus Christ, pleasing Him, worshipping Him for who He is and what He has done for us.  God is good and desires our praises.  After being renewed with a good night's sleep, I prefer to start my day welcoming the Holy Spirit.  There's something special about early morning before things get so busy.  It's quiet, peaceful and clean looking when the sun is coming up in the country.  Our problems seem so little in the early morning.  I find it MY time to seek my heavenly Father, Emmanuel (God with us), to find answers for today's worries and receive strength for the battles I will face today.  Pour your heart out to Him - He is there for you.  He loves you and everything that touches your life touches Him.  The word of God says to cast your cares on Him for He cares for you.  When we wait until we are in the hectic hustle of the day, it is so easy to get caught up (raptured) in THIS WORLD.  We then often don't know which way to turn.  Suggestion to try for one month--set your clock an hour earlier and talk with Jesus.  Give your first thoughts to Him!  Share everything with Him.  Then have something nice to drink.  I prefer ice water then hot tea.  In the meantime, coffee will be brewing for my darling husband Mr. Roger.  It takes him a while to get started.  Bless his heart, he is definitely a keeper!

You know, about this morning stuff, I've not always been a morning person.  I used to tell people
